Our actions
Westside Rescue provides spay and neuter services, preventative vaccines and supplemental food to the companion animals
of Fresno's homeless. Our group strictly serves the homeless.
IF YOU ARE HOMELESS AND NEED SUPPORT
You can find us downtown twice a month on Friday evenings. In order to receive continuous help from Westside, clients must agree to have their pets spayed or neutered. Until clients are established, pets must be present on Friday evenings to ensure supplies are given to those who have followed our program guidelines. For the safety of everyone involved, we ask that all animals be on a leash or in a carrier.
Our why
The human-animal connection in the homeless community is powerful and very real. For many, it is the only thing that stays with them no matter where they go. They both feel safe.....and loved. With our support, companion animals are healthy, well fed, current on vaccines, and are spayed or neutered; reducing the number of stray animals on the streets.
